I felt uninspired about what to photograph today so I went outside and tried some close-ups of various things in the garden. This was one of the best. The new leaves on pieris are a beautiful red before turning green. It makes them look like beautiful tropical flowers.
I took this using my 55-200 lens and manual focus. I still want a macro lens!
